SAFETY AND SECURITY

Assume every air gun or air rifle is a firearm.

Assume every air gun is loaded.

Control the air gun muzzle direction at all times.

Trigger finger out of the trigger guard until ready to discharge the air gun.

Always be sure that the air gun safety button is on when not shooting.


  • Eye protection is mandatory at all time when entering and when you are on the range.
  • Control the direction of the air gun muzzle so it is always pointed down the range at the steel backstop.
  • NEVER POINT THE MUZZLE OF THE AIR GUN RIFLE TO ANOTHER PERSON ALWAYS KEEP THE GUN IN A SAFE POSITION THE MUZZLE POINTING ONLY IN THE DIRECTION OF THE SHOOTING RANGE AIMS.
  • No outside air guns or air rifles are permitted onto range. Only lead pellets, lead balls, or plastic airsoft BBs are approved for discharge. Any other projectile, including steel BBs, alloy, and steel pellets are forbidden on range. Lightweight high velocity pellets strictly prohibited.
  • Operation of an air gun is prohibited while under the influence or impairment of legal or illegal substances.
  • Only air guns with a maximum allowable muzzle velocity of 500 feet per second (fps) permitted on range.
  • Air guns not in use at the firing line are to unload and PROVED safe with muzzle pointed in a safe direction.
  • Air guns may only be loaded only prior to shooting.
  • Crossing the firing line during the course of fire is explicitly forbidden at all times.
  • Leave no trash or hazardous obstacles behind.
  • Do not take additional lanes/benches/firing positions without facility authorization.
  • Range access is limited to 2 hours maximum
  • Always thoroughly wash your hands after handling lead to prevent lead contamination.
  • The Range Safety Officer (RSO) and the facility staff are the ultimate authority on the firing line and throughout the facility. You must comply with their instructions and direction at all time.
  • Irresponsible shooting behavior (e.g. gangster style), or excessive dry firing of equipment, will result in immediate expulsion from the shooting range.
  • Negligent discharges whether intentional or accidental will result in immediate expulsion from the facility. Resulting damage to people and property becomes the legal and financial responsibility of the client. Property damage has to be repaired immediately by the faulty.
  • The air gun or air rifle mustn’t be given to anyone else, other then the instructor.
  • The participant cannot leave the firing line without informing the instructor. (Air gun or air rifle cannot be left unattended)
  • The participant cannot leave from his station to anywhere else in the complex with the air gun or air rifle.
  • It is prohibited to be two participants at one firing position. (Exception for a parent or guardian of a child)
  • Children less then 8 years of age are prohibited from shooting. In addition a parent or guardian must accompany children aged 8 to 12.
  • The participant must obey all the instructions given from the Range Safety Officer. The instructor has the highest authority!
  • When you receive the instruction to “STOP!” You must initiate the safety PROCEDURE as instructed. Put your air gun or air rifle down position, turn the safety on and take a step back from the gun.
  • If the instructor feels that the behavior is dangerous he has the right to expel you from the range or even the complex of Tir du soleil.
